Fwd: NMM Choir at Halo lunch Club

Here is another email that has been sent to the choir from Sally Parker, from the Halo club.

Hi Eric,
Thank you so much to you and the choir for coming and entertaining us so well last Tuesday.
It was a great afternoon and a fitting end to our festivities leading up to Christmas for our older folk.
Do hope you’ll be able to come back and see us again in the New Year!
Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a God blessed New Year.

Dear Choir,
I have been so blown away by your performances last Saturday and this past Saturday at RVCP! You make me very proud. It is an honour and pleasure being your musical director and I look forward to a nice break, and then starting again in January with a new and challenging programme!
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year 🎄🎉🥂
Lillian

Fareham Towns Womans Guild

Good afternoon to you all,

Last night was the final time that almost all of the choir managed to get together for a concert, and didn’t we do well.  The comments that we heard from the audience were “don’t know we were going to sing that many carols, but I could have listen to the choir all night long”, and ” I wonder if we could book them for a Christmas concert next year”.  We sounded very good, especially in the chapel, and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

Our last private concert will be for the Fareham Towns Womens Guild, on Wednesday, at the St John’s the Evangelist Church Hall, 1A St Michael’s Grove, Fareham  PO14 1DN.  There is a small car park between the church and the hall, or if the are no spaces, you will have to park somewhere on the street close by.  We are singing from 2.15pm so you will need to arrive from 1.45 to 2.00pm so that we can get you seated ready.  At the moment, there are only 12 of us singing, so if you feel that you would like to join us, please let me know.

The programme will be as follows:-

Sing We Now of Christmas
Little Drummer Boy
In the bleak Mid-winter – Solo by Mike Ward
Once in Royal David’ City
Carol of the Bells
Follow the Star
Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Solo by Lin Kellaway
Away in the Manger
Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Still, Still, Still
Angels Among Us – Solo by Roy Hogben
Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer
O Come all Ye Faithful
Do you hear what I Hear
Jingle Bell Rock
Hark! the Herald Angels Sing
The Most Wonderful time of the Year – with hats

A few of us are also singing that evening, around the streets of Boorley Park, at 6.30pm, so if you would like to join us, let me know and I will send you the details.

Well, that’s all for now.

Regards

Eric

RVCP Carol Concert

Good morning to you all,

As promised, here is a copy of the programme and the words to the carols that we will be singing at RVCP on Saturday.
Can I remind you to write your vehicles registration number down on the list tonight ready for Saturday, and that you should arrive there from 6.00pm so that we can sort out the seating arrangements and have a warm up, as the doors open at 6.30pm.
See you all tonight.
Regards
Eric

Concert Parties

Good evening,

I suddenly realised that I had missed out Still, Still, Still from the programme that we are going to be singing for the three Concert Parties we have coming up, so can you add it to the list and put it between Rudolph and O Come All Ye Faithful.
Also, I need to remind you that we are wearing “Victorian” costumes for the concert tomorrow at KCC.
So I’ll see some of you tomorrow and the rest on Thursday.
Bye for now.

Christmas Concerts

Hello there,

Well, that was certainly a good day yesterday.  From the comments that were heard from the audience, they really enjoyed the singing and the songs that we sang.  There were several in the audience that had not come before, and their reaction was that they didn’t realise that a choir could sound so good live, and they especially like the harmonies that we produced.

A big thank you for all those that helped set the venue up, transported the equipment back and forth from the lock-up, looked after the front of house and behind the scenes in the kitchen, helped to clear up after which meant that we were finished by 10.00pm, and finally to you, our members for making the day worthwhile.

Now, looking forward, we have three concerts coming up, as follows:-

Tuesday, 13th, singing for the Halo club at KCC (where we held our summer concert), Hedge End.  They would like us to start at 1.30pm, so we need to meet at 1.00 to 1.15 so we can get set up and seated ready to begin.

Friday, 16th at the Hamble Social Club, Beaulieu Road, Hamble (where we have been in the past), for the RAF Association.  We have been asked to start at 1.15, so we need to be there for 12.45 to 1.00pm to set up etc.

The programme for both of these concerts will be as follows:-

Sing We Now of Christmas
Little Drummer boy
Once in Royal David’s City
Carol of the Bells
Follow the Star (if we have enough Tenors)
Away in a Manger
Good Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
O Come All Ye Faithful
Do you Hear What I Hear
Jingle Bell Rock
Hark! the Herald Angel Sing
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
We are then singing on Saturday, 17th, at the Royal Victoria Country Park for their Carol Service. The Carol Service will be starting at 7.00pm, so we need to be there for 6.00 to 6.15 so that we can sort out the chairs and have a sound check before the doors are opened at 6.30pm.  We will be singing the following songs:-
Sing We Now of Christmas
Good Tidings of Comfort and Joy/Carol of the Bells
Do you Hear What I Hear
Grown Up Christmas List
White Winter Hymnal
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
We will also be singing the following carols:-
Once in Royal David’s City
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Away in a Manger
Good King Wenceslas
In the Bleak Mid Winter
Hark! the Herald Angel Sing
Silent Night
O Come All Ye Faithful.
Once we have received their programme, I will let you know the running order.
They require us to give them our registration numbers for our cars, so we will have a list out on Thursday’s rehearsal so that you can write your numbers down.
This coming Thursday, we will be rehearsing the songs and carols that we will be sing at RVCP on Saturday, and we will finish with some light refreshments, as this will be our last rehearsal before Christmas.
We then will be singing at the Fareham Towns Woman’s Guild on Wednesday, 21st December, but I will let you have more details about this nearer the time. We will be doing the same programme as we will have done for the RAF Association.
Well, that’s all for now, so look after yourselves in this cold weather we are having, and I will see you at one of the vents that we have coming up over the next week.
Bye for now.
