Hi All
This is Lillians last week before she goes on Maternity Leave we wish her all well and can’t wait to hear about the new baby.
The Warm Up song without words is “You Raise Me Up’ > > The plan this week is to run through as many pieces as we can to give Ed the chance to hear how Chris plays it and maybe help build his confidence. > > GOLD > JOSEPH > BOND MEDLEY > LES MISERABLE MEDLEY > SWEET CAROLINE > ON A CLEAR DAY > I’D LIKE TO TEACH > YOU RAISE ME UP > PINBALL WIZARD > FIELDS OF GOLD > I BELIEVE/AVE MARIA > A MILLION DREAMS > > Looking forward to it! > > Lillian
Can you bring all of your music and hopefully we will be able to get through as many as we can.

Singing for Ukraine at the URC – song by memory next week – ‘You Raise Me Up’.

Hi All
Just to confirm that the date that was best for who can attend is Saturday 9th April 2.00pm arrival Concert at 2.30 for about 1 hour 15 mins there will be refreshment afterwards.
We will be singing some of the songs from our Golden Concert so that we don’t have to rehearse anything else and also will be singing popular songs with audience participation. We are going to sing through the whole programme this Thursday to give Ed the pianist a chance to sit with Chris to go through them so we can make a final decision then.
We thought it would be nice to wear yellow and royal blue if anyone has one of our polo shirts that would be good. But it would be nice to have a few yellow tops dotted around if anyone has anything in their wardrobe. (I found one in a charity shop).
More details will follow.

Annual Dinner

Hi All
Just to confirm to those to those that are attending the meal tomorrow night. It will be 7.00pm for 7.30 meal.
There will not be a seating plan so it might get a little hectic sorting out the meals but I am sure we will all be fed eventually!!
For those that have not been there before we have the room at the back to ourselves so when you come in the front entrance to the pub turn right and it is along the corridor.
Looking forward to catching up with you all.

Lots of Bits and Bobs

Hi All

Just added some more things to this email started last week.  Sorry it is a bit long.  Also my Doodle has died so can’t double check the people who have signed up.

RAISING MONEY TO SEND TO UKRAINE

Thanks to those people that responded to the question of singing for Ukraine at St Edwards Church.  For those not on WhatsApp it  was to find out if members, if they were available and  would like to  help with singalong  from shows at a  Concert to raise money to send to Ukraine. I do not have anymore information on this yet but as soon as I do I will pass it along.  Well since starting this letter I have now found out that it is not going ahead.  The chap that was trying to organise has pulled the idea which is a shame.

ANNUAL DINNER AT THE PRINCE CONCERT, 71 Victoria Road Netley Abbey SO31 5DS 26TH MARCH 2022

Just checking that I have everyone who wishes to go to the Dinner at the Prince Consort and I haven’t missed anyone.  I don’t think I made it clear that you can bring  someone along with you and also if you know any past members that would like to come they are more than welcome. Eric has now sent out an invitation with Menu and details of payments.  Could you please reply to Eric ericgerrey@aol.com

SINGING AT THE MAYFLOWER

Just checking again that I have not missed anyone.  There was someone call A Phone who I am not sure who that was!?  We should be getting the backing tracks and words to rehearse at home and we will also try and arrange a rehearsal together before the event.  We are looking at the Saturday 30th around 4 pm at the Methodist Church for a bout an hour?

If you have a close family member (who can sing) or friend that would be willing to put in the practise and come to the rehearsal then I can see no reason why a few  should not be included but we I would need to know very soon.

I do have a few more details now – Greg the MD has been quite poorly with Covid and is only just getting back into the swing of things so is catching up with things. – There should be about 100 singers from 4 different choirs. – There will be seats on staging for the singers when not performing – Dress code is 99% black (dresses/tops/trousers) just to be uniformed together as a massed choir.  (I am assuming the 1% is accessories?) – Music and backing tracks hopefully coming out this week.
