Indoor Rehearsal 16th September 2021

Hi Everyone
Wasn’t it wonderful to be back singing indoors last week. So lovely to hear everyone and all of the harmonies together. I understand that the people on zoom enjoyed hearing all of the voices and enjoyed singing in with the choir.
Time to let me know if you can make it this week. If you came last week I will assume you are going to attend this week, so please let me know if this is not the case. Eileen has let me know and I have made a note that Richard are unavailable. So if you came last week and can make it no need to inform me.
IF HOWEVER you did NOT come last week and are planning to attend this week then please let me know. It is important so that we can plan how many places to lay out and to seat everyone in the right voices.
Chris will be leading us again this week and here is a list of what we will be singing. You should all have this music, don’t forget to look in your big files if it is not in the music that we have been currently singing. So double check all of your music and let me know if you are missing any and Tony will try and loan you a copy for the night.

Thanks for the support of the social event on the 2nd October. The Committee will get together and see how we can plan this to be as safe as we can. Watch out for details.
Don’t forget if you are unable to make the live rehearsal you can join us on ZOOM!

Saturday 2nd October Plans

Hi Choir Member
As some of you may be aware we had planned to have some sort of Concert on the 2nd October sadly this will not now happen, it is too complicated to organise and we do not feel that we are Concert ready with our performing.
We have still however got the Hall booked and wondered how people feel about having some sort of social event with some guests but limited numbers, so that we could at least sing the songs 🎶 that we have been rehearsing online and when we were outside. We could sing on the stage or from your seats whatever people felt comfortable with. You could maybe bring a picnic 🍰 and we could serve cups of tea or coffee ☕️
To help pay for the Hall and expenses we could maybe have a raffle/retiring collection?
Before we go ahead with planning too much we thought we would like know how you all felt about and would be likely to attend.
If you want to reply to this email with your intention and if you have any comments and suggestions that would be great to hear from you. I will also ask for a show of hands for those that will be there tonight.
All The Best
Lin

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RETURNING TO CHOIR

Hi All
I am sending the risk assessment for us singing indoors on a separate email , it wont be sent out every week so can you make sure you don’t delete it in case you need it for future reference.
Thank you to those that have replied to my original email to let me know if you are intending to join us on Thursday.  It has also been very useful for those people who have replied saying that they are not attending either not able, on holiday etc. I will then know that you have seen the email and I wont have to write to individuals to  make sure that you have received the first email. It would be helpful if ALL members who have NOT replied could do it on this email now to keep them all together.
I did ask in the original letter if you could let me know by MIDDAY TOMORROW
so that we can work out a seating plan.
We have put more safety precautions in place by purchasing a C02 monitor so that we can Verify the quality of airflow and  in the Hall.  We have also purchased a screen for the Lillian to use for her safety and the choirs whilst she is conducting. (Hopefully this will arrive by Thursday 🤞). If it does not arrive we will leave extra space between.
Lillian is unable to join us for the first two weeks and Chris will be taking the helm.  This is a list of the music that he would like you to bring this week.
Sing Sing Sing!
One Voice
Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel
The Best Of Bond (including Skyfall)
The Music Of The Night
Memories
Let The River Run
Chattanooga Choo-Choo
A Million Dreams

River Song
The Lord is my Shepherd
You Raise Me Up
And So It Goes
You’ll Never Walk Alone
We will get through as many as we can.  Everyone should have these pieces let me know if you haven’t.
Watch out for more emails!!!!   I will send ZOOM details on a separate email for those that are unable to join us.

RETURNING TO INSIDE SINGING 9TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Hi All

Thank you everyone who completed the survey or who got in touch with me with their  views on returning to choir inside.  We had a committee meeting this evening and it certainly helped us to decide on a trial plan to return to the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday 9th September 2021.

We are planning to invite all of the choir members to attend with a minimum social distance of 1 meter and we will  be able to get everyone safely in the Hall.  It is important that we know who is coming so that we can have a seating plan with the chairs in place for when people arrive.  We need the information by the latest Wednesday midday to give us enough time to sort out where people are going to sit in the right voices so please can you let me know if you are intending to attend the rehearsal before Wednesday 8th September midday.

We are asking that you start arriving at 7.25pm and stagger your arrival time so that everyone is not trying to get seated at the same time if necessary please queue outside safely and  distanced until you are called to find your seats. We will start singing at 7.45pm and finish at 9.15pm

Other precautions that we are intending to put in place are:-

Minimum of 1 meter between chairs and people are asked not to mingle of have physical contact (hugs) and keep a safe distance from other choir members while getting to your places.

Face coverings to be worn when you arrive and leave or move around.

Windows and Doors will be open for good ventilation.  We are also intending to purchase a C02 monitor which will check the Hall is sufficiently ventilated whilst we are singing.

Hand Sanitiser will be encouraged to be used and will be available.

Double vaccination would be preferable for each choir member as this is the government recommendation and we hope that everyone has  responded to this.

It would be encouraged and preferred for all choir members to have a Lateral Flow Test within 24hours of the rehearsal for everyones peace of mind.

You can of course have your own precautions if it makes you feel safer.  if you want to wear a mask whilst singing, bring a spray to wipe down the chairs or bring your own or anything else that would make you feel more comfortable that will be entirely acceptable.

We will have a risk assessment  in place which we will distribute before next Thursday.   We will also ask if you have any symptoms or feel unwell in any form that you do not attend the session.  We are mindful that we have a wide range of ages in our choir members and some could be more vulnerable than others and we want everyone to enjoy the experience and feel safe whilst they are there.

For those that are still not happy with meeting in person we will still  be offering a ZOOM link so that you can attend virtually this will start at 7.30  to enable you to have a chat before the rehearsal starts at 7.45pm.

Lots more information to come to you all so watch out for my emails, gosh you must have been missing them!!!!!  Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Lin

NMM Return to indoor rehearsal survey by Aug 20th

Subject: NMM Return to indoor rehearsal survey by Aug 20th

Hi Everyone
In order for the committee to assess how everyone is feeling about returning to indoor rehearsals in September we would like to repeat the survey we did earlier in the year.
Please complete the anonymous Making Music survey using this link by Friday Aug 20th. Our group name is ‘The New Music Makers’:
It only takes a few minutes and the more responses we get the better the preparation for everyone to feel safe and comfortable with the measures in place!
Thanks
Natalie
