LOST IN PANTOLAND – TONIGHT

Hi All
Just a reminder about tonights panto. I sent the links went out on Thursday. Attached is the piece advertising the original pantomime in 2008 and the subsequent writeup from Curtain Call which we won for “Aladdin Too” in 2004.
If you have any problems with the technology for Zoom or the YouTube, Eric, who is running tonights Zoom, is available to help with either – telephone 02380490450 or email ericgerrey@aol.com or Jerry at jerry.gamble@fourpart.plus.com.
I have emailed all of the people that were connected with the panto either in the cast, choir or production and I have had replies back that some of them will be joining us on the Zoom call, which will be lovely.
Please remember this is what it is. It was 2008, technology has moved on since then in cameras, lighting, sound etc. You may find that you have to turn your sound up when some of the softer talking cast members are performing . You probably will not have that problem with me!
Thanks to Martin Small leaving NMM his videos in his Will, we are able to watch this and we must also remember others who are sadly no longer with us, including Mon Beale, Galia Harrison, Di Heathorn, Pat and John Smart, and Colin Wilkinson. Apologies if I have missed anyone.

LOST IN PANTOLAND

HI ALL

Just to let you know that we are premiering Lost in Pantoland this Saturday 6th February at 7.00pm.  We are doing it alongside a Zoom call which starts at 6.45pm so we can have a chat make sure that everyone is logged in and then people will have to be muted whilst the Panto is on.  There is a short break in the middle and there will be time for a chat at the end.

I am writing to everyone that was involved to see if they would like to join us on the zoom call.  It will mean that you will best need two devices one for the video and one for the zoom call, but not essential.  You can watch the video at any time after it has been aired if you did not to watch this on Saturday at 7.00pm

If you have not done Zoom or YouTube before this could sound daunting but all you have to do is click on the blue links and it will take you to the right places.  If you have never been on Zoom you may need to follow the simple instructions and possibly download a small program to enable you to complete and is used worldwide.  Just follow the on screen instructions.

YouTube may ask you to log in but this is not necessary.

We are asking people not to put it on Social Media as we don’t think that the world is ready for us yet. If you would like to share the Youtube link with family and friends that is fine but not the Zoom link please.

HI ALL

So here we are again Week 47 and February has arrived I hope you are all coping with this Lockdown and are managing to keep yourselves fit and healthy and entertained.  To help with the entertainment side we are giving you something to do on Saturday Evening so get out the popcorn 🍿fizzy pop🥤 and settle yourselves down to watch ‘LOST IN PANTOLAND’ a premier of the 2008 Pantomime talked about entertainment of that decade, year, month, week, oh OK just that day then.

As I said in the last email I will send out the details later in the week for you to be able to watch it on Youtube and join in with online chat, you will have to be muted whilst the Panto is on but there will be time for a chat at the beginning a short break in the middle and at the end.  I am also intending to invite past members who were in the choir and Panto and involved with the production to see if they would like to join us on zoom. I will send you a copy of the programme so you can TRY and follow the story.

No Birthdays this week so no lovely photographs for you to look at, which is a shame because I have a new device and have been trying to sort it out and made a lovely montage of Chris Allison then realised his birthday is not until next week. Whilst trying to sort out how to do it I now have a photograph of Chris and Zac as my screensaver/wallpaper/background/whatever you call it,  and can’t work out how to change it.😂🎹😂

I have already sent out the details of what we are singing for this week but just in case you missed the email:-

Dear Lin

You have received a message from (laurie@carryonsinging.com) via the contact form at Making Music:

Hi there,

My name is Laurie Denman, and I’ve written to you in the past using the Making Music website Contact Form concerning my online choir platform, Carry On Singing.

I am delighted that many members from choirs across Making Music were able to join in our last 4 Week Online Choir Programme over the Christmas period and I would be extremely grateful if you could please forward this email to the members of your choir once again.

As we continue to get used to the UK’s third National Lockdown, keeping our minds alive and our voices in check is more important than ever, so I’m thrilled to be able to offer another 4 Week Online Choir Programme: our ‘Sing Into Spring Course’! This course will focus on the wonderfully emotive tune ‘Lean On Me’ by Bill Withers which carries an ever-increasing importance and relevance in these unusual times. Our arrangement of ‘Lean On Me’ endeavours to lift our spirits with a slightly faster tempo and fun, creative four-part harmony, and members will, as always, be given the opportunity to record their parts at home, adding their vocal contributions to our Virtual Choir Performance. Our courses also offer a host of exercises and warmups to keep your voice in good health and bespoke SATB Guide Tracks to assist in your learning of our arrangement.

Our Sing Into Spring Course begins on Friday 5th February 2021, with new materials sent through each Friday after that, lasting for a total of 4 weeks. If you’d like to find out more information about our Sing Into Spring Course, then please head over to our website at:

If you’d also like to check out how fantastic our members look and sound in our Virtual Choir Performances, then please click on one of the links below:

Thank you very much for helping to spread the word of Carry On Singing! With your help we can cut through the chaos of Coronavirus, embrace the magic of music, and, of course, put the sing in social distanc-sing.

Laurie
