WEEK 50 Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81691367380?pwd=RUg4SFNPbnRxbUVwQ1gwb1ZKUWZhQT09 Meeting ID: 816 9136 7380 Passcode: Gold

Hi Everyone

Well here we are week 50 and and is there light at the end of the tunnel? “Will we meet again some sunny day”?  If all goes well 21st June (my Chris’s Birthday) seems to be the date that we may be able to think about returning to choir.  We will try our best to keep up with any developments and keep you informed as much as we can.  But certainly something positive at last, how could we possibly have known that things would have lasted this long, I certainly would have made sure that those cakes were out of the choir cupboard in the Church Hall!!  I wonder who brought them in last year?  For Peter and Vanessa, when it is your birthday week people very kindly bring in cakes for the choir to have during the tea break.  Talking of which we have two birthdays this week.

Peter Foster, our newest man, who signed up before Christmas as a bass and has been joining us on our Zoom Calls.  The only picture I have of him is on a Zoom Call.  Sorry Peter.  His birthday is on Friday 26th.

Hope You have a Good Day

Marg Dunne is celebrating her birthday on Saturday 27th March.  You get to have a day off – you can’t go anywhere – but at least you can celebrate at home and not have to bother about work.  The first concert Marg attended was at Christmas 2013 as a Soprano.  Marg has been on the Committee and always joins in and helps with our social events.  She also likes to dress up💃😍

Have a great day Marg.

Hi All

Hope everyone is well and those that are eligible are getting their jabs with no problems.  There has to be some advantages of being older like me.

Well we don’t have any birthdays, as I said last week, no birthdays and then three came along at once.

But we do have some great news, we have a new 2nd Alto.  Vanessa Wilkinson has been joining us for several weeks on zoom and had her voice test in a break out room last week  and passed with flying colours.  So I am very pleased to welcome Vanessa to the New Music Makers.  It will be lovely to actually meet her and Peter one day.

I also have dates for your Diaries.  Of course it is all depending on the situation at the time but it is something to look forward too.  So pencil in Saturday 11th December 2021 for a Christmas Concert at The Royal Victoria Country Park in the evening and Saturday18th December 2021 2.30 and 7.30 for our Christmas Concert at Hedge End Village Hall.  🎄🎄

Week 48

Hi All

Apologies for not sending my email yesterday I was actually busy doing things and ran out of time. But I wasn’t too worried as I had already sent Lillians email out about what we are going to sing tonigh t.

So as you see we have Birthdays. It is Chris Allison’s tomorrow 12th,  Sharon Thomas’s 14th, and Jill Parkinson’s on the 17th just like busses you wait for ages and then three come along at the  same time.   I used an app to create Chris’s photograph (and yes I still do have him and Zac as my screen saver), as that took me nearly all day to create  I apologies to Sharon an Jill for not getting the same treatment.

Chris joined the choir in 2015 as our accompanist when Michael Goldthrope was MD.  A man that can multitask by playing the drum 🪘 and piano 🎹 at the same time conduct and play when we go out with the Concert Party, sing and play four different parts when he takes us for sectionals, a rare talent in men being ale to multitask 😂.  Did I just write that out lo ud.
Have a great Day with your lovely family, sorry there is not a picture of Mark.

Sharon has her birthday on Valentines Day. I wonder if she gets two lots of pressies from Martyn.  Sharon is a contralto and also our Treasurer and she has been in the choir quite a while and also has been the treasurer for what she must seem is forever. She does a great job and keeps an eye on us so we don’t spend too much.

I have lots of photographs of Sharon Smiling I hope you have a smiley birthday.

Jill has also been in the choir for a long time she is also a  contralto. The photograph was taken last year at the Golden Dinner with her husband Bob. I hope you are keeping well Jill.

Have a lovely day Jill.

LOST IN PANTOLAND

It was fun on Saturday night watching the Panto with the Zoom call at the same time.  We had several past members join us, Rita and Andy, Eric Newman (briefly), Frank Parker and Jason Brown, it was lovely to have a chat with them all.  I also have heard from some of the past members saying that they were going to watch it.  The lad that ran with the lamp, Jonathan Mayers  is 24 and doing a postgrad at Royal Academy and his sister Bethany is married and is in her last year at the Royal Welsh Conservatoire  studying Trumpet. I also heard from Daniel Clouting who was Mons Grandson and he was looking forward to see himself all those years ago.  I am guessing that some of you have watched it as well as we have had 78 views so far.  I hope you enjoyed it.

LOST IN PANTOLAND – TONIGHT

Hi All
Just a reminder about tonights panto. I sent the links went out on Thursday. Attached is the piece advertising the original pantomime in 2008 and the subsequent writeup from Curtain Call which we won for “Aladdin Too” in 2004.
If you have any problems with the technology for Zoom or the YouTube, Eric, who is running tonights Zoom, is available to help with either – telephone 02380490450 or email ericgerrey@aol.com or Jerry at jerry.gamble@fourpart.plus.com.
I have emailed all of the people that were connected with the panto either in the cast, choir or production and I have had replies back that some of them will be joining us on the Zoom call, which will be lovely.
Please remember this is what it is. It was 2008, technology has moved on since then in cameras, lighting, sound etc. You may find that you have to turn your sound up when some of the softer talking cast members are performing . You probably will not have that problem with me!
Thanks to Martin Small leaving NMM his videos in his Will, we are able to watch this and we must also remember others who are sadly no longer with us, including Mon Beale, Galia Harrison, Di Heathorn, Pat and John Smart, and Colin Wilkinson. Apologies if I have missed anyone.

LOST IN PANTOLAND

HI ALL

Just to let you know that we are premiering Lost in Pantoland this Saturday 6th February at 7.00pm.  We are doing it alongside a Zoom call which starts at 6.45pm so we can have a chat make sure that everyone is logged in and then people will have to be muted whilst the Panto is on.  There is a short break in the middle and there will be time for a chat at the end.

I am writing to everyone that was involved to see if they would like to join us on the zoom call.  It will mean that you will best need two devices one for the video and one for the zoom call, but not essential.  You can watch the video at any time after it has been aired if you did not to watch this on Saturday at 7.00pm

If you have not done Zoom or YouTube before this could sound daunting but all you have to do is click on the blue links and it will take you to the right places.  If you have never been on Zoom you may need to follow the simple instructions and possibly download a small program to enable you to complete and is used worldwide.  Just follow the on screen instructions.

YouTube may ask you to log in but this is not necessary.

We are asking people not to put it on Social Media as we don’t think that the world is ready for us yet. If you would like to share the Youtube link with family and friends that is fine but not the Zoom link please.
