WEEK 46. Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81691367380?pwd=RUg4SFNPbnRxbUVwQ1gwb1ZKUWZhQT09 Meeting ID: 816 9136 7380 Passcode: Gold

Hi All

Well here we are and yes it is Week 46, this would probably have been the week-end that we would have been having our Annual Dinner.  So although we cannot all be together  here’s a good  excuse to have a nice meal and maybe a boogie and probably a bottle of wine?

We have one birthday this week it is Beccy Coppen’s on Wednesday 3rd January.  I have known Beccy since she was a little girl at junior school when I took her for cycle training (I am not sure if that is true but I did  take cycle training and Beccy was at the school  when I was teaching) but I did see her when she was taking dance lessons.  We were all very pleased when she joined the choir as she lowered the average of the choir considerably. She had time off when she had her son Oliver but came back and then of course she had Edie during lockdown.

This is Beccy with Carita (our pianist) when we were in Germany.  Looks like they were having fun.

Proof that she was planning with Louise to hit me with the clacky stick. Look at that evil look in her eye.  Have a great birthday with your lovely family.

I have already sent an email on what we are singing this week but just as a reminder.

“Oh no you haven’t!”  “Oh Yes We Have!”.  “Oh No You Haven’t!”.  “Oh Yes We Have!!”  We are going to have another premier on Zoom of one of our past Pantomimes 7.00pm next week.  We will send you all the details you need for the zoom and the link for the YouTube in the coming week.
We are going to premier “Lost in Panto Land”. It has many of the choir current choir members performing in it with lots of singing and audience participation.

Here is the birthday girl with her husband Dick Whittington (Eunice) in the Pantomime ‘Lost in Pantoland’.  Slightly upset because I married him/her a couple of years before this.

As you can see Sandra was always a star in out Pantomimes these are just some of the roles she took. You never know you may see her performing on a television near you soon??? Sandra has been in the Choir forever she did have a break for a while but missed us so much I was very pleased when she came back. We hope you have a wonderful Day Sandra.

Hi All

We only have one birthday this week and it is Lillians tomorrow Thursday 21.0101,  I had lots of photographs of Lillian from the back waving her arms at us but managed to find find some.  Lillian joined in September 2016 and the Christmas Photograph is her first Christmas conducting us.

We hope you have a lovely birthday and if you are really lucky we will all sing 🎶 Happy Birthday To You 🎶 tomorrow evening on Zoom.

So what are we doing tomorrow?

We had a Music Committee Meeting today and are planning some exciting  things for the coming zoom calls,  but a bit early to plan for tomorrow.  So tomorrow if you can have all of your Summer Programme ready we will have a sing through as many as we can so that you can find out what songs you are struggling with so that we can put those in future zoom calls along with the other things planned.

HIM and ME – The Tracy & Hepburn story

25 – 31 January 2021

“I have loved and been in love. There is a big difference.” – Katharine Hepburn

A new play in two acts by Charly Armstrong & Dan Scott

He was elusive. She was unconventional. Together they formed an on-screen partnership that captivated movie-goers for more than twenty five years. But what audiences didn’t know is that all of it was real.

One of Hollywood’s best kept open-secrets, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn were an unlikely pairing. Though their relationship was fraught with difficulties, they remained devoted to one another all their lives.

Hepburn was fiercely independent, Tracy was married. But, then again, in the golden age of Hollywood: romance was never like the movies.

LIVE STREAM

11th – 17th January 2021

Up Pompeii
High jinks and slap and tickle in the ancient Roman town of Pompeii

A stage version of the classic television series originally starring the inimitable Frankie Howerd as the much put-upon slave Lurcio. As Lurcio attempts to deliver his prologue and begin the proceedings, he’s quickly caught up in the myriad of sexual liaisons in his master’s house. Whilst growing chaos ensues, an increasing rumbling is heard in the distance – what could that possibly be? A riot from start to finish.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
When we are allowed to have live performances in our auditoria we want you to feel as safe as possible.
Titchfield Festival Theatre has purchased an ozone generator – normally used in hospitals – which will thoroughly cleanse the theatre (stage, auditoria, public areas and backstage) of any viruses or potential infection , following each performance. TFT has also introduced socially distanced seating in our auditoria and bars and public areas. Hand sanitising stations will also be available throughout the venues and a thermal check as you enter the theatre. Increased deep cleaning and treated door handles and push plates increase protection for all our patrons against flu, covid and other germs and viruses. Our bars are also now allowed to open under the latest government guidelines. Socially distanced queueing in the bar to collect drinks of all sorts without having to purchase a ‘substantial meal or a SCOTCH EGG’. All drinks must be consumed at your seats within the auditoria.
