Tomorrow’s Zoom Call

Hi All (again)
Meant to say on my last email that hopefully we have a new bass joining us tomorrow night. He heard our virtual choir song and wanted to join us so got in touch via the website.
His name is Peter Foster and has recently moved into the area he has sung among with other choirs the Suffolk Constabulary Male Voice Choir.

I have waited for the announcements from Boris before I sent out the email.  Firstly thanks to all of those that answered the survey that I sent  out earlier in the week.  It would seem a lot of people would like to go back to choir either in our outside.
Unfortunately after todays announcements it would seem that only six people can meet together.  There were guidelines saying that as many people could join in a choir rehearsal  as long as it was in a Covid safe venue and people were all socially distanced and a risk assessment was put into place.
I certainly have not heard anything that is directly associated with choirs about only being six people but there maybe something at a later stage.  If anyone hears anything different do let us know.
Not everyone did reply to the survey and it would still be interesting to know for when we can go back if you wouldn’t mind replying please.
So till we know more – see you on zoom, and here is my weekly email:-

Hi All

Back to Choir we go even if it is only on zoom after a very long holiday. We have a birthday this Thursday 10th September, Ann Lee.  Ann is a top sop and has been in the choir for a number of years.  Hope you have a lovely day.

So we are back to choir be it only on Zoom for the time being.  This week we will be going through the Bond Medley and the Joseph Medley and also You Raise Me Up our next virtual choir attempt.  I am sure Lillian will tell us when she would like our attempts in by.  We wont be rehearsing for the normal amount of time as I am sure you will all agree it will be rather hard to keep concentrating for that amount of time.  We will have a session in ladies and mens breakout rooms and then have little group breakout rooms for a tea break and then resume again for more singing.

It would be lovely to see as many people as possible, if you have problem logging in let Eric know and he will try and run through it with you.

Hi All
It’s September!!!.   How did that happen.  The last thing I remember it was March!!  But here is a reminder of things to come:-

It may have to be two weeks later this year as Santa may have to isolate for 14 days due to travelling the world. 🎄 🎅🏼 🌍
Well our last social zoom call this week, not quite sure what will be going on yet but it will be different!  We may get Roy telling us one of his poems or ditties, he doesn’t know it yet!!!
Thanks Eric for keeping us in touch through our summer break and those people that contributed to quizzes and games and those that joined in.

Hi Lin

Here’s another Royal Albert Hall link for anyone interested.  Free music on demand at any time is available in the section called

“Albert Home on Demand”.  It looks very interesting and has an eclectic mix of music and performers.  It also covers the 2020 Proms, such as it is.

Hi All

Just one birthday this week, it is Gilly Jefferey on Friday.  Gilly is an Alto and I believe she joined the choir in 2005 when Marian joined as Musical Director.

Hope you have a lovely day Gilly, and that Jeff has some nice treats in store for you.
Bank Holiday Week End for all of the non workers like me who have no idea what the date is.  Hope you all have a good time.

There is a lot of talk about choirs returning to rehearsals.  We are looking into this and we will keep you informed if there is any move forward on it.

This weeks zoom call is going to be a multiple choice quiz by Jerry.  I have a one in three chance of getting it right!  If time we will have some break out rooms.  Thanks Jerry.  Hope you come along for a catch up.

Hi Everyone

We have a birthday this week. Tony Jardine our new Music Librarian’s birthday is on Friday 21st August. Thanks for standing under the “Photos” sign it made it easier for me to find. 😆

Not a lot to report at the moment, I hope people have been enjoying the lovely weather and have been able to get away if they wanted to.  Nice drop of rain ☔️ for the gardens 🌹 , it can stop now!!!

This weeks Zoom call will be a game of ‘Catch Phrase’ and maybe a chat in break out rooms.  Thanks Eric for organising this again whilst Chris is having a lovely time in Cornwall.
