Rehearsal for Thursday 4 May

Good afternoon to you all,

I hope you are enjoying this Bank holiday weekend.

I have the rehearsal plan for this week’s rehearsal, from Lillian:-

Dear All,

Can you believe we only have 5 rehearsals left before our concert??

For this coming Thursday, I’d like the women to arrive by 7:30pm so we can rehearse Wherever You Are, and then the men to arrive by 7:45pm to run through Simon and Garfunkel. Please come warmed up already if possible.

Wherever You Are – Ladies
Simon and Garfunkel – Gentlemen
On a Clear Day – Test memorisation
Every Breath You Take – with guitar
The Holy City
Somewhere Only We Know
Viva La Vida
Your Song – check rhythms, listen to the practice tracks on the new website!
A Whole New World
Summertime

Please I expect you to look over the songs listed above before coming to rehearsal Thursday!

See you then,
Lillian

Starting on the 11th, we will also be rehearsing those of you that have indicated that the would like to sing a solo, duet, or small group.

Chris will also be taking four of the songs and conducting them himself and we have the luxury of Sophie Aynsley coming on that Thursday and the following Thursday so that Chris can practise with the choir his conducting while Sophie plays the piano for us.

As you might have seen, the tickets for the concert are now on sale via the Ticketsource website, or you can purchase them from Sarah on Thursday evenings.

The Local vocals are getting busier, and we will be singing again at Snowdrop Place on the 9th May, for the Dementia Support Group, so if you are available, please let Eunice know.
As I mentioned at last week’s rehearsal, we are looking for someone to replace Eunice as Secretary, so if you know anyone who might like to take on the challenge, then please let me know.  We have a Minute Secretary, so one of the hardest jobs has already been taken care of..
Well, that’s all for now, so enjoy the rest of this long weekend, and I will see you on Thursday.
Bye for now.
Eric

Thanks to all of those that came on Saturday evening to the dinner, and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.  From the comments that I have received, I think you certainly enjoyed the food.
Can you please let me know if you are available for the Private Concert Party on the 27th April, at Bitterne URC, if you haven’t already done so.
For the Summer Concert, we will be looking for solos, duets etc, so if you want to try your hand, either let Lillian or myself know.
Well, that’s all for now.
See some of you this afternoon, and the rest of you on Thursday.
Bye for now.

Fwd: Rehearsal Plan 23/3

Good afternoon to you all,

Have a good week,
Lillian
Just to remind all that are going to the Annual Dinner next Saturday, that the balance of your money must be paid by the 23rd March.
If there is anyone who wants to go with the Local Vocals on Wednesday, to Snowpdrop Place, Botley, can you let Eunice know.
A date for your diaries – 27th April.  We are singing at Bitterne URC Church, in the afternoon, on that date, and so that we can get a programme together, it would be handy to let me know if you are able to attend this event.  You can either email me or let me know at rehearsal.
Well, that’s all for now.
I will either see you on Wednesday at Snowdrop Place, or at rehearsal.
Bye for now.
Eric
