WEEK +20 LAST REHEARSAL OF 20/21 SEASON. Zoom details same as usual. JOIN ZOOM MEETING. Starting at 6.45 pm https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81691367380?pwd=RUg4SFNPbnRxbUVwQ1gwb1ZKUWZhQT09

Hi All

Thank you to everyone who attended the ZOOM AGM last Thursday, it was a NMM 1st I think, we had finished the meeting before 8.30pm.  To be fair there was not a lot to talk about as everyone had had the reports and there was not a Committee to Vote for and lets face it we didn’t do much during 20/21 Season.  It was useful having everyone’s feedback regarding going back in September and the Committee will take all of that on board when we have a meeting to discuss that and the potential Concert in October.  The Choir were wholeheartedly in agreement that they would like to thank Lillian and Chris for the Zoom rehearsals and latterly the outside singing.  Obviously it has not been easy for them but we do appreciate that they have helped to keep the choir together and that we can go forward now that hopefully things are improving.  Special thanks were made to Chris for setting up the Zoom in the first place to enable us to all keep in touch.

We have three birthdays during the Summer Break it is Alison Bakers on the 11th August Tony Jardine on the 21st August and Gilly Jefferey on the 28th August.

cv
Alison joined the choir in September 2019 and this is the only Concert December 2019 that Alison managed to sing in I am sure you are looking forward to singing in some more.  Have a lovely day.xx

Look at Tony being clever and showing Gen how the lights work!!  Have a great day Tony I am sure Hilary will spoil you. xx

Hope you have a lovely birthday Gilly it will soon be time to go back to choir after it.  Have a great day.

Hi All
Well we didn’t win the football that was sad and so is all the terrible publicity that has been going on after the final  such a shame,  I think the team did a wonderful job and kept us entertained and lifted peoples spirits.
It was also a shame that last weeks rehearsal had to be cancelled but weather permitting we can go ahead this week.  I have only had one person that replied to my last email so I am assuming everyone else that was on the list is going to attend.
We do have a birthday this week it is Michael Fishers birthday on the 21st July.  Michael joined the choir in February 2018 as a Bass.  image3.jpeg
Happy Birthday Michael hope you have a great day and I promise you will have a new blue bow tie that has a happy smile not a sad smile.

You should have received the Agenda and the minutes from the last AGM also an invite to the zoom meeting for next week.

Rehearsal Thursday 15th July

Hi All

Just to inform you that we are planning to go ahead with this weeks outside rehearsal at Natalies.

We are pleased for Erin, Natalies daughter had negative PCR test which was required by the school on Sunday but she still has to isolate until the 17th.  The rest of the family have had negative lateral flow tests.  We think that under the circumstances she will have been isolating for 8 out of the 10 days and we are outside that there is a very low risk to choir members.

If you do not feel happy to attend we will fully understand  if you could just let me know that you will not be there.
So normal thing if you are on the original list below and are not able to make the rehearsal let us know. If you would like to be added to the list you are more than welcome just let us know you would like to attend.
I have marked the ones who I believe have already informed me. Apologies if I have missed anyone.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ. TOMORROWS OUTSIDE REHEARSAL CANCELLED 8/7/21

Hi All Unfortunately we will have to cancel tomorrow’s outside rehearsal as one of Natalie’s daughters has been sent home from school to isolate so we will be unable to use the garden. It is too short notice to find another venue as we would have to do a risk assessment etc on the location.
We will however be doing zoom as per the details sent out earlier. There will be break out rooms at some time during the meeting.
Sorry about that but obviously cannot be helped.

NMM Wanting and Selling Page – Magazine editing for Talking Newspapers

Begin forwarded message:

Subject: Magazine editing for Talking Newspapers

Lin – could you send the following out to our choir members please?

Hello everybody

I have been a volunteerwithr Southampton Area Talking Echo (which produces talking newspapers for the blind) for many years now, giving my time as a reader for the magazine edition that goes out to our blind listeners, and also as an administrator.  As time has gone on, we have unfortunately lost some editors and are in need of people to compile material from a range of different sources to produce an edition to go out roughly every two months.

Firstly, therefore, if anyone thinks they might be interested in becoming an editor, I would be more than happy to talk through what is required, and provide a bit more information about what we do.

Secondly, I have volunteered to be an editor myself for a couple of editions to help us through this year, but am short of material.  So, if anyone out there has magazines such as The Oldie, which contains articles that might be of interest to our listeners, or anything else that might be useful, again please contact me.  The listeners are all elderly, so articles that bring back memories for them, particularly about Southampton, would be good, along with some amusing pieces.

You can email me on sharont@gmail.com if you can help.

Many thanks

Sharon Thomas
