Hi All

Thanks to the those  that have already  let me know  if your  circumstances are different  from last week for attending rehearsal tonight, but if there any others can you let me know please asap.

If it is your first time back or if you forgot last week back please bring your Christmas Music back in alphabetical order.

Things seem to be getting a little better but it would still be appreciated for the safety of all choir members if you could take a Lateral Flow Test on the day of attending choir and if  the test is positive then isolate for the Government recommended days before returning to rehearsal.

The Pre rehearsal health check is just a reminder although I am sure we have been doing it long enough now that we know it backwards.  Please could you still wear a mask unless you are exempt before finding your seats and if you are moving around the room.

It was nice to have a little break in the middle of rehearsal last week BUT the monitor increased by 150!!!! So lets just talk quietly to our neighbours and if you do have move to talk to someone else please wear a mask.

Pre rehearsal health check

Hi All

Thanks to the those  that have already  let me know  if their  circumstances are different  from last term  for attending rehearsal tonight, but if there any others can you let me know please so that we can do a seating plan.

Don’t forget to bring you Christmas 🎄 Music 🎶 back, please can you put it in alphabetical order it makes life so much easier. – thank you 😊

As you will know that the Covid numbers are still rising so it would be appreciated for the safety of all choir members if you could take a Lateral Flow Test on the day of attending choir and if the the test is positive then isolate for the Government recommended days before returning to rehearsal.

The Pre rehearsal health check is just a reminder although I am sure we have been doing it long enough now that we know it backwards.  Please could you still wear a mask unless you are exempt before finding your seats and if you are moving around the room.

At the present moment we will space the chairs further apart than we did before Christmas. And we will be checking the monitor and windows and doors will be open when necessary, so wrap up warm, I can recommend Primark Thermals!

REHEARSAL 13TH JANUARY 2022

Hi Everyone

We have a slightly adjusted programme for the Golden Concert Mark 3.  After looking through the music we  have added a few and taken a few out to make it more interesting for this year.   We hope you approve of the changes.

The added ones will put up on the members webpage and new pieces of music will be handed out when it arrives, you should also have some of them in your music folders.  The pdf for Sweet Caroline will be made available on the members webpage for you to print.  Please advise if you have not got access to a printer.

There are a few pieces  to keep out that we will hopefully be singing in July sometime at the Summer Spectacular!

Don’t worry Beckie, Elaine and Jenny Tony will be giving you your music!

Lillian has a singing/rehearsal  plan for this weeks rehearsal see below.

As it is a new term can you please let me know if you are not coming to this weeks rehearsal and if your plans are different from last term.  We will of course still be making rehearsals as safe as we can to make all members feel comfortable and happy to meet up.  All safety notices will be sent out prior to Thursday evening.      Thanks Lin

Fwd: Return of Christmas music issued from the library

Subject: Return of Christmas music issued from the library

Note from Tony Jardine, NMM Music Librarian

I will be collecting in the music issued to members for this last Christmas.  This is In line with previous years.  Could you please bring your music along to this Thursday’s rehearsal (13 January), preferably sorted into alphabetical order as per the list below?  If you’re going to be on or continue to use Zoom, could you please arrange to return your music via someone who will be attending? If neither option is possible for you this week please return it on the first subsequent rehearsal night that you can.

Carol of the Bells

Do You Hear What I hear?

Happy Holiday/White Christmas

Jingle Bell Rock

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

Silver Bells

Sing We Now of Christmas

The Little Drummer Boy

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

What is this Lovely Fragrance? (Ladies only)

Wonderful Christmas Time

‘Follow The Star’ was issued as a soft copy for “print-at-home” by members.  I can store it against your member number in the library with the rest of the Christmas music for future use if you wish.  If you choose not to do this, you should be prepared to use your copy again or to print again it yourself in the future when we sing it again.

I loaned a copy of the “Carols for Choirs” book as a convenient stop-gap to a couple of people to ensure you had music for all pieces this last term.  Could these loanees please also return those this week with your music.  I would now ask you to buy your own copy now the time pressure has reduced before we return to Christmas music next autumn.

I also asked one or two people to look for a few pieces they appeared to still hold from previous years.  You will have had a note from me with the music I gave you in the autumn stating this and that I’d issued you with a spare copy of the pieces involved from the library.  If you’ve not been able to find these, please speak to me to let me know.

Thank you.

REHEARSAL AND CONCERT CANCELLED

Subject: REHEARSAL AND CONCERT CANCELLED 😢

Hi All

We have had a difficult decision to make.  The Committee did not want to cancel the Christmas Concert but we had to weigh up what is best for everyone with the Omicron variant moving at an “absolutely phenomenal pace” as was described in the news brief today. And as Professor Chris Whitty urged people to “prioritise social interactions that really matter to them and de-prioritise others” “Don’t mix with people you don’t have to so that you can be safe for the things that really matter to you”.  This makes perfect sense and it would be terrible if people could not have the Christmas they wanted and we were the cause of it.

It has also been decided to not have a rehearsal tomorrow evening as the same points apply to that as well.

People who have bought tickets will get their money back.

Sharon will sort out the fish and chips and will put the money back in your accounts if you paid by bank transfer, if you paid by cheque they have not been paid in yet and Sharon will return them to you, she will also sort out who has paid by cash.

If you gave raffle prizes we will bring them to the first rehearsal on the Thursday 13th January 2022 and you can collect them back.

I will make an announcement on Facebook if you see it perhaps you can share.

Many thanks to Chris for all of his hard work and making it fun learning Christmas Songs in September and making us ready for a Concert and to Victoria for coming along and playing for us.

Thanks to the Committee for all of their hard work and the volunteers that would have been there for the Concert maybe we can have Christmas in March as someone suggested.

So Everyone Take Care and Have a  “Wonderful Christmas Time”.

Christmas Concert 2021

Hi All

Just a few things that have evolved from our Committee Meeting that we have had this evening regarding the Concert on Saturday.

Firstly we will be making a definitive decision on Thursday night whether we go ahead with the concert or whether we have to cancel due to the  Covid situation.  So at the moment the intention is to go ahead so there are a few things that we would like to pass on.

We will do our best to ZOOM the Concert and we will send you the link if you are unable to attend.

Of course we will be wearing masks but we can take them off when we are performing.  We will be keeping watch with the monitor and we will be airing the Hall when necessary.  So if you can wear your masks until we are in position and take them off when we sing but replace when we sit back down.  We will wear them when we sing the carols.

Ladies we will be wearing our red tops with silver bling,  Black trousers, black shoes or ankle boots, if you wear black shoes please wear black socks/tights.  Men black shirts, new red bow ties, dinner suits.

Music in a black folder with red tinsel, please photocopy the carols so that you only have one set of music.

When you are seated please sit with your folder closed with the tinsel facing outwards.

Please do not take water onto the performance area, if it is necessary then please take it in a discreet receptacle and only use if necessary.  And if someone  is performing a solo can you please look like you are enjoying it.  All eyes are on you.

I did joke about having reindeer antler headbands/hats to start the second half and it has been decided that we will go ahead with this and we will  also use them for the ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’.  I do have several but probably not enough, I will also be getting some that you could purchase from me for £2.00 each.  I will bring them all on Thursday and see if we have enough.  We are also going to give them as Santa Presents so that the children can wear them when we are singing Rudolph which is the start of the Second Half.

Please bring your own drink for the intervals there will be mince pies available.  We are not making a hot drink for the audience during the interval but we will have the urn on for a drink between the performances but please can you bring your own cups/mugs.  If you are staying for fish and chips please bring your own cutlery and condiments if you want them.

If anyone would like to volunteer to sell and fold raffle tickets that would be very useful.

DON’T FORGET TO BRING RAFFLE PRIZES THURSDAY NIGHT.

Thanks All

Lin

RVCP a few pics

Hi All
A few pics from last night if you don’t do Whatsapp. I particularly like the one that I made Chris pose for 😂 especially as he did such a great job not only playing and conducting us but also playing all but one of the carols and keeping the organisers organised!
Thanks to all of you that attended I think we put them all in the Christmas Spirit with our choice of songs and I had some lovely compliments after the service. It was quite challenging singing the carols in masks so many thanks for that and I really think that it helped the audience to do the same.
How lovely to have some of our new members there last night Elaine, Vanessa and Beckie, I promise I wont sit you under the tree next year Beckie, although it was quite funny when you knocked off some of the baubles, good job Jane and I had masks on and they couldn’t see us giggling especially as it was during one of the serious readings. 🎄
I hope if you bought raffle tickets that you had one of the many many many many many ticket numbers that were drawn out.
Apparently Chris was asked by one of the organisers if we would go back next year, always a compliment. So thanks again everyone it was a great evening.
