Hi Choir Member
As some of you may be aware we had planned to have some sort of Concert on the 2nd October sadly this will not now happen, it is too complicated to organise and we do not feel that we are Concert ready with our performing.
We have still however got the Hall booked and wondered how people feel about having some sort of social event with some guests but limited numbers, so that we could at least sing the songs 🎶 that we have been rehearsing online and when we were outside. We could sing on the stage or from your seats whatever people felt comfortable with. You could maybe bring a picnic 🍰 and we could serve cups of tea or coffee ☕️
To help pay for the Hall and expenses we could maybe have a raffle/retiring collection?
Before we go ahead with planning too much we thought we would like know how you all felt about and would be likely to attend.
If you want to reply to this email with your intention and if you have any comments and suggestions that would be great to hear from you. I will also ask for a show of hands for those that will be there tonight.
All The Best

NMM Risk assessment – Keep for Future Reference
Hi All
RISK ASSESSMENT FOR INDOOR SINGING SEPT 2021
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RETURNING TO CHOIR
RETURNING TO INSIDE SINGING 9TH SEPTEMBER 2021
Hi All
Thank you everyone who completed the survey or who got in touch with me with their views on returning to choir inside. We had a committee meeting this evening and it certainly helped us to decide on a trial plan to return to the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday 9th September 2021.
We are planning to invite all of the choir members to attend with a minimum social distance of 1 meter and we will be able to get everyone safely in the Hall. It is important that we know who is coming so that we can have a seating plan with the chairs in place for when people arrive. We need the information by the latest Wednesday midday to give us enough time to sort out where people are going to sit in the right voices so please can you let me know if you are intending to attend the rehearsal before Wednesday 8th September midday.
We are asking that you start arriving at 7.25pm and stagger your arrival time so that everyone is not trying to get seated at the same time if necessary please queue outside safely and distanced until you are called to find your seats. We will start singing at 7.45pm and finish at 9.15pm
Other precautions that we are intending to put in place are:-
Minimum of 1 meter between chairs and people are asked not to mingle of have physical contact (hugs) and keep a safe distance from other choir members while getting to your places.
Face coverings to be worn when you arrive and leave or move around.
Windows and Doors will be open for good ventilation. We are also intending to purchase a C02 monitor which will check the Hall is sufficiently ventilated whilst we are singing.
Hand Sanitiser will be encouraged to be used and will be available.
Double vaccination would be preferable for each choir member as this is the government recommendation and we hope that everyone has responded to this.
It would be encouraged and preferred for all choir members to have a Lateral Flow Test within 24hours of the rehearsal for everyones peace of mind.
You can of course have your own precautions if it makes you feel safer. if you want to wear a mask whilst singing, bring a spray to wipe down the chairs or bring your own or anything else that would make you feel more comfortable that will be entirely acceptable.
We will have a risk assessment in place which we will distribute before next Thursday. We will also ask if you have any symptoms or feel unwell in any form that you do not attend the session. We are mindful that we have a wide range of ages in our choir members and some could be more vulnerable than others and we want everyone to enjoy the experience and feel safe whilst they are there.
For those that are still not happy with meeting in person we will still be offering a ZOOM link so that you can attend virtually this will start at 7.30 to enable you to have a chat before the rehearsal starts at 7.45pm.
Lots more information to come to you all so watch out for my emails, gosh you must have been missing them!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Thank you those that have filled out the survey it will really help us to have your thoughts to plan going back to choir on the 9th September.

As it is the last night we are going to try and sing through all of the songs that we picked out for the potential concert in October. Not necessarily in this order but could you make sure you have all of the music with you. It will let Lillian and ourselves know which songs need more work and also will give us the opportunity to run through them whilst we are having our summer break from the recording.
