Weather doesn’t look too bad so we may be in luck but please wear something warm it could be chilly sat around for the rehearsal.

Hi All


Hope everyone is well and enjoying the football ⚽️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⚽️ 😊for those that like watching it.  Sorry for our members who support Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☹️ especially Eunice and Allan who are currently on holiday in Scotland.

We do have a birthday this week it is Keith Henry on Friday 25th June  and hopefully we can all sing to him tomorrow.  


Keith and is beautiful daughter Rebecca hope you have a great day.  



AGM TIME

It is nearly AGM time and again this year it will be on ZOOM.  It will be held on 22nd July 2021.  Myself Chairman, Eric Gerrey Secretary, Sharon Thomas Treasurer, Natalie Heppel Vice Chairman and Committee Members Margaret Ballard, Jerry Gamble, Maureen Pay, Louise Staniforth, Sarah Turl have all said that they are happy to stay on the Committee for the next year.

The Music Committee consisting of Tony Jardine Music Librarian, Hilary Green Sop Rep, Maggie Jacobs Alto Rep, Percy Knight Tenor Rep, Eric Gerrey Bass Rep and Secretary are the Music Committee along with Lillian Sediles and Chris Allison.  So far Percy Eric  and Maggie have confirmed that they would stay on the Committee. 

If anyone else would like to nominate a candidate for any of the above roles they must have the approval of the nominee and be seconded. Please send via email  to chairman@newmusicmakers.com

Nominations will close at the end of the rehearsal on the 8th July.

More reports and details  of the AGM will be sent out before the 22nd June for you to read and any questions or points should be sent prior to the zoom meeting.

Thanks to those that have replied to my email regarding singing outside tomorrow 🤞.  All of the rules still apply so remember the 2 meter rule and no mingling or hugging.  If you need reminding of all of the rules please check through past emails on the members page on the New Music Makes website.  Any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

It was a shame that last week we had to cancel the outside session due to the bad weather.  We will try again this week and keep our fingers and everything else crossed that we can go ahead. Thank You Natalie for letting us use your garden again.

Hi All

It looks like we may have to carry on with outside rehearsals for the time being due to the restrictions not being lifted and they  still do not seem to have changed the rule of more than six amateur singers rehearsing or performing indoors together which is another obstacle, who would have thought that we could cause so much trouble?
This is all a shame but at least we can get together and hear one another singing, although that was not particularly great last week in the first run through of ‘When the Saints” but the men did  master it out in the end.   

I am sure by now you have all read the previous emails and know what is required to attend an outside rehearsal, if you need to remind yourselves all of the emails are on the members page under ‘Lin’s Email’s’

Because of this we need to know exact numbers and to keep everyone in the right sections we need to work out a seating plan.  To my knowledge the following people have said that they are going to attend.  Apologies if I have added/missed anyone off.

The weather looks a bit unsettled we will let you know by 5.00pm if we decide to cancel so please check your emails if you are in any doubt. We will then revert to zoom.   It might be a good idea to have an umbrella just in case we get a shower, I thought it was going to rain last week when we were singing Africa ☔️.
Thanks to Hilary who has agreed to fill in for Chris as he is in London for a meeting and is not 100% sure he is going to make it back in time.  Hilary has been practising so thanks again Hilary.  Hope you all have a great time and the weather behaves itself.
