As promised the Doodle Poll for singing for the Royal British Legion Centenary Festival at the Mayflower.  
We will be part of  they hope 100 – 150 strong choir.  We will be singing:

Rule Britannia, Land Of Hope and Glory, Eternal Father, National Anthem
I am not sure what versions yet but we will practise these before the 1st May to make sure we feel confident.

Hi All
Just a reminder to let me know if things for attending tonight  are different from last week.  So if you were not at rehearsal last week and are attending  this week then let me know.  If you were there last week and are not going this week then let me know.  It just saves putting so many chairs out and making sure that people are sat with the right voices.  
If you told me last week or in fact any week,  and you didn’t see me write it down then I have already forgotten!!!
For those on Zoom can I just remind you to mute yourselves as soon as the rehearsal starts please, you can unmute in the break but do remember to mute again and feel free to unmute at the end for a chat with your fellow zoomers.

Hi All
Firstly the response to the Doodle Poll for singing at Botley for the Platinum Celebrations has not been very encouraging for us to go ahead with it. I do understand that people will want to go away and be with friends and family which is fine but if there is anyone that has forgotten to respond and is able to definitely make it could you please let me know asap as at the moment we will have to decline the invitation as we do not have enough people in the parts especially men and sopranos. Well done Altos.
We are back to normal rehearsals this week so all back to the main Hall. Rita and Andy apologised for not turning the heating on last week. They fell asleep and by the time they woke up Eric and I were already at the Church.
I would like to thank Hilary for doing a such a marvellous job playing the piano 🎹 for the sectionals, it was very much appreciated, but we will be glad to have you back singing 🎶 with the sopranos this week. 😀 😃
So this week we have Ed Slot coming to try out as pianist whilst Lillian is taking Maternity Leave and if it all works out he will play at the Summer Concerts.
The first part of the rehearsal Chris will take with Ed playing and then we will carry on with rehearsals as normal. We are going to see how much we have learnt in the sectionals.

Training CD’s

Hi All
Jerry has asked me to send out a reminder for those who would like him to produce Training CD’s.  
People did ask him on Thursday but he didn’t make a note of everyone so could you please repeat your request.
Below are what is on each CD could you make sure you tell him which ones you would like and remember to say what voice ie Sop 1 etc.  The songs are the same for all voices, the ladies have an additional song ‘One Moment in Time” on theirs.  
Can you let Jerry know by Wednesday to give him time to produce them.

Hi All

Just a gentle reminder if you could take an LFT before tonight that would be good. 

My Chris and I play in a crib league on a Tuesday night and 7 out of the 10 from one of the teams (not in our pub) all caught covid at last weeks match so it is very rife at the moment.

Can you please let me know if things are different for your attendance from last week.

Can I remind you to do the Doodle Poll please we need to let the organiser know if we  are going to attend.  If you are unsure and you only think that you will make it can you answer that you can’t make it you can always join in on the day.

I heard from Tom Rodaway that Peter Sawtell has sadly passed away he was treasurer when I joined the choir so some of you will remember him. I have details of his funeral if anyone would like them

Hi All
I did mention at choir about singing at Botley for the Platinum Jubilee. They will have a big Stage setting so we need to have enough support to make a good sound to show off the New Music Makers. Saturday 4th June 2022 High Street Recreation Ground Botley
They intend to have live music all day ending in fireworks at 10.00 pm. You can take a picnic and stay all day or just stay for the singing the choice is yours. They music will start at 3.00 and they said that they thought that local choirs etc would be better at the beginning possibly 4.00pm to be confirmed.
As you probably are aware this is a bank holiday weekend and there probably will be lots of events going on or in fact you may want to go away so it would be appreciated if you can make a definite commitment so that we can let the organiser know if we are available or not. We don’t want to get there and not be able to put on a good performance and we need a balanced choir. What would be worse if we have to cancel at the last minute. They want us to sing for about 45 mins.

Just thought you might like a heads up for this weeks sectionals.  We have a new song to learn  ‘Why We Sing’ it is something a bit different in a cappella you should have been handed music on Thursday and it is on the one drive so you can check your notes.
There will be a few changes on Sweet Caroline they will be on the website soon but to save you printing another copy we will be handing a replacement on Thursday. 
So get learning folk!
